Love the job, not the standing...

Pros

People, new knowledge, free food and shift drinks. 30 percent off, just don't lose your temporary employee discount like I did.

Cons

I love the job, but it really beats a body up to stand for 7.5 hrs with no break.

Pros

The coffee is good and you get a free half pound of beans a week, as well as a free shift drink for every shift you work. As a team member, I felt the hours were very flexible, so it would be a great job for students. It's also a fun work environment, or can be, depending on your manager and co-workers. You can also get benefits as a part-time employee as long as you work at least twenty hours a week.

Cons

The pay is low to start with and there's really no reward for sticking around past the six month and one year mark. I've been there for over a year, and the only raise I got was in response to a minimum wage increase in Minnesota. No paid breaks, very early hours, and if you work in a drive thru store, prepare for a headache from the constant beeping in your ear. The store managers are over-worked and under supported. There's no indication that management truly values its team members beyond empty rhetoric. There's also a CONSTANT push to sell coffee beans that the customers found incredibly annoying.

Pros

Free coffee and great customers. Core Values were great, though not at Upper Management Level.

Cons

Pay and appreciation from District and Corporate Managers. If an employee is late, just once, for opening the store they are fired regardless of their work ethic and reputation at the store. I was a supervisor that was never late for work in almost a year of employment, worked hard and at multiple shops. I was valued by store managers, customers and co-workers. One morning I missed my alarm clock and the store opened 15 minutes late. I was asked to meet with someone the following day (so they could terminate my employment). After 30 minutes of waiting the person that asked me to come for termination was called and had decided to go spend the day on a boat. At that time telling someone else (who didn't want to lose me) to do the termination.
