      The 'Carpenter' that once was, is no more.

      Good company name to put on a resume.

      Cons

      Management sells their employees on 'free dreams' (an actual term they use behind closed doors). They sell you on the promise of a better work life, better pay and better opportunities, knowing full-well they have no intention of doing so. Imagine running on a treadmill with a carrot dangling 5 ft in front of the machine, you can run as fast as you like, you're not catching that carrot. Customer service reps are taught to not ask questions and follow blindly, the term 'drinking the kool aid' is fitting for this environment. To management, we're all just a number. My experience is just one of many from customer service.

      Decent pay and vacation time

      Terrible work environment, incompetent management. You are a number, not a person. There is no loyalty to the employees. Money is wasted consistently. Projects started or implemented and then abandoned. It is definitely a place where who you know trumps what you know. Managers that constantly break harassment policies. Just bad overall and getting worse.

      Great 401 k contribution match, tuition reimbursement.

      Cons

      Long hours, reductions in the hourly and salaried work force mean the employees who remain are overworked. Decisions and initiatives change daily. The job becomes your life, very little work life balance. It's a what have you done for me lately culture and a strong emphasis on driving daily metrics. Little room for error or mistakes long term employees not valued looked at as pariahs.
