1) They allow their subsidiaries to function with autonomy 2) Excellent pay and benefits 3) Very high retention rate of lower level workers 4) You learn a lot

Cons

1) Takes a long time to get capital expenditures approved. 2) High turnover in upper management positions including CEO 3) As stated above, many workers there for a long time (some over 35 years) and thus are resistant to change 4) Some equipment there over 35 years, also

The company provides stable employment and usually annual bonuses. It's located in a nice, small town, so parking is free. Nice people to work with. Highly talented work force.

Cons

Limited career opportunity. Going through integration with another company, which makes things pretty hectic.

Temp Working as a Lab Technitian

It paid better tan previous jobs that I held. Coworkers were quirky and entertaining

Cons

The company employed half of its workforce through a temp agency. A single safety violation would get you fired and workers hid fairly serious injuries and grotesque scars because of the legitimate fear of termination. The company offered little in the ways of job security unless you passed the 18 month gauntlet of being a temp and the 6 month permanent employee probation period.. After having worked for a company wit a very sympathetic and hands on corporate structure, I was fairly appalled at the lack of humanity applied to the employees
