Pros

Outstanding company (excluding current management) with very interesting work opportunities for all types of employees. Solid company that's been around since 1889 that rarely loses money. Pay and benefits have been good.

Cons

Too many to details here but the largest problem is the current executive management team and the board that keeps them here even though stock performance has been terrible and they don't care at all about employees unless it affects their safety metric. The current group has no clue how to manage a high tech alloy company or how to keep and motivate people. They fire anyone who disagrees with them or can't make up for their mistakes. Most of the best people have already left and the exodous continues. Executive management moved the home office to Phila and now wants to move further away to Carolina from the "cash cow" in Reading, PA. They say no one talented wants to work in Reading. That is an insult to all the talented people in southeast PA and that made this company so great in its industry. Love this company but the current management has destroyed the culture.

Micromanaged Overworked

Pros

The pay is decent. The work itself isn’t bad or stressful.

Cons

Management is verbally disparaging. There is no separation of work/personal life. High stress and ridiculous expectations. Micromanaging and disrespect. Many of the people in charge have degrees, but no idea how to do the actual work. Insurance is very expensive. Favoritism is a big issue here in moving up as well.
