Pros

25% Discount Not much more to say, Just run far away from Carters/Oshkosh.

Cons

I was lied to from the beginning. I was hired on promised a Store Manager position after a few months of being hired. I was told I would be promoted often, yet they would hire people from outside the company and keep telling me I am ready for my own store. My DM was always lying to me about getting promoted. She came on a few months after I got hired. Pay was really bad. They over looked potential. High turnover rate. They expect you to train yourself. They DO NOT promote within. I wasted 1 1/2 years on false promises. Horrible corporate management.

Pros

As an employee, you can park for free

Cons

A genuine perspective for candidates from an employee- I know the job market is tough out there, but please carefully consider the culture of the company you’re interviewing for. Read through the reviews of the corp office. Some trends for you- leadership guided by politics and the “in” group, no leadership development, few opportunities for growth, outdated return to office mandate, inflexible policies, weak benefit offerings. Employees who have quite literally describe the environment as a waking nightmare. With all of this feedback, maybe the company would decide to invest in sentiment surveys, professional leadership development, and 3rd party ethics and compliance investigations. Instead, they eliminated the HR team and gave more power to the managers who are causing the company to crumble. Zero oversight and a toxic workplace. I only write this review to help some naive job seekers who see a bunch of openings at a historically stable retailers. I wish someone was courageous enough to share this feedback when I was interviewing so I could see the company values for what they are- printed words on a piece of paper. The values are not imbedded in decision making, certainly not in the treatment of people, and absolutely not in support of lives outside of work. Please speak to current employees about their honest experiences (outside of people trying to recruit you). I feel bad for the recruiters who have to put on a show about how great of a company it is. With so many talented employees leaving, they have a lot of jobs to fill.

Pros

The customers and the product! It was a great job and I loved it honestly.

Cons

Because Carter’s refuses to reevaluate what it means to pay a living wage you couldn’t keep talent. If was so hard to even find decent employees when they refused to pay more than $9 hr. Most of the managers are part time and make between 12-15 hr. It is hard work, taking care of customers, dealing with rampant theft, putting out thousands of pieces of new product several times a week if not daily. Yet they don’t want to pay your employees what they are worth.
