Wonderful experience working on the mission to improve transparency and quality of healthcare from the current broken, closed system we have today. Most everyone at the company works openly to succeed and very hard atypical of a start up company. Midas 100 VC investment support should not be under valued, they have the funds to finance and support stability.

Cons

Arrogance is unfortunately the Achilles heal. If you don't have Ivy league academic pedigree, you will not be valued. Company has/had brilliant team that moved mountains, but unfortunately most have left due to lack of growth, alignment with Anthem (many would say Payors are the problem with Healthcare, thus remaining independent was key). Unfortunately, Castlight missed the opportunity to leverage consultants and broker relationships which were key to getting into accounts beneath the Fortune 100. Too bad, Castlight had such a great opportunity to blossom if they built a bench of talent with HC experience and that understood why Technology alone will not change healthcare.

The mission of the company of providing healthcare transparency. The opportunity to work with some of the most driven and talented colleagues. Good Benefits

Cons

Too much focus on pedigree as an indication of a person capabilities. Fast growth resulted in hires that didn't fit culturally resulting in Loss of it's close knit friendly atmosphere. The company feels much more hierarchical than it used to be, senior leadership is too busy with inside politics

I signed with Castlight without knowing much about the company or product (I do not have an HR or health care background). WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE! The more I learn about the company the more excited I am that I jumped in. 1) THE PEOPLE at Castlight are incredibly sharp and dynamic team players. Everyone is hard working and focused -- great, unselfish, wicked smart culture. 2) THE PRODUCT is amazing. Truly a disruptive product, making it a challenging sale and an uphill journey at some points, but Castlight's product team is the most visionary and innovative in the enterprise health care space, hands down. 3) THE VISION of Castlight-- to change healthcare, to fix a profoundly broken system, to allow people to become educated consumers and save them from financial peril associated with injury and illness, to allow benefits managers to take the best possible care of their employees -- is a noble cause, to say the least.

Cons

I am so excited about my job that I spend all my time reading and working. This will likely have a negative effect on my social life. Castlight encourages a work/life balance, mine is a self inflicted imbalance.
