Teacher - Full Time

Pros

I was a classroom teacher before I began working for Catapult. I like being able to work with small groups (6-8 students). Being a teacher for Catapult is wayyyyy less stressful than being a classroom teacher.

Cons

The medical insurance they offer is very expensive and there is a lot of unnecessary paperwork

THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT THE CHILDREN

Pros

The hugs and smiles of the kids you work with

Cons

Not enough staff to deescalate situations, 1 teacher per 3-5 students with emotional disabilities who tend to fly off the handle and become abusive not only to the students but staff as well. If you aren't a part of the clique then you are a moving target. If you question whether the job is right for you or not, you get called by HR and are informed that you work for an "at will company". There are teachers and 1:1 aids dating, gossip about other employees, teachers that are not Pro-Act trained and yet stand there expect you to deescalate a crisis situation when they are the trigger! The director and upper management staff are by no means professional. They offer no support, no professional development to staff, nothing! They are not out to help these students, they are out for the money!
