Great benefits and branding.

Cons

Extremely inefficient in organizational processes. About 10 years behind. Too many unneeded employees, and impossible for your voice to be heard. Your intellect is not needed or heard. You are a number and will be lost in the constant changes while they struggle to remain on top. Trial and error instead of planning.

Some Superintendents were very enjoyable to work for. They truly cared about the long term success of Caterpillar Good salary and benefits.

Cons

Not all Superintendents show the same ability to lead in an engaging manner. With leadership styles of intimidation, belittling and not showing GENUINE appreciation.

Pros

Caterpillar is an honest company; it does keep its books straight. It has plenty of resources, too, with state of the art manufacturing equipment and design software. For a large company with a worldwide base, it is fairly well organized. It does value quality, which it gets.

Cons

No matter what you do, somebody is in your face about it. Back stabbing is rampant. Every department looks out for itself, and usually has little concern for Caterpillar as a whole. People development is minimal; educational encouragement does not exist and reimbursement is hard to get.
