Pros

Good reputation, decent benefits, 3 days/week (no 4th shift), many day shift opportunities

Cons

Horrible workplace environment (zero respect for RN's), the nurse is held accountable and responsible for almost all other job entities (i.e. It's the RN's fault a pt isn't on an antihyperlipidemic post stroke), punitive management and lack of support, patient acuity (many many many codes for a telemetry unit), nurse-patient ratios, unapproved vacation/holiday time, looking to transfer between units and it's up to management and staffing if they'll let you (not if your qualified and worked your butt off), very poor orientation process, and a total disorganization and backward health care system.
