Pros

Learn a lot in regards to telemetry/cardiac

Cons

Treat you like a slave, mean and condescending to new nurses. No new nurse support, patient ratios too high for acute patients (7:1). No lunch breaks ever offered on my floor. 1.5yrs working here and never got a lunch break. No nurse autonomy, no trust in nurses. Bullying among nurses and management. Negative environment. Culture of blame. Very high turnover, stress level and responsibility of nurses are too high. Not enough help and when you voice your concerns they are not taken seriously.

Pros

Health insurance, dental, pension are all great! Money for continuing education is now $7,500/year with only 1 year owed back to hospital after completion.

Cons

Upper management- lack of advanced degrees or credibility in the position. Doctors are extremely rude and disrespectful to not only the nurses but also the patients; administration does nothing about this bc they rely on the Dr's for profit
