Pros

The work done by CRS benefits those who are less fortunate than we are. It was important to me that I was helping out another person as I worked

Cons

CRS is too big a company. There is a lot of discrimination; Managers have the ability to fire you because of personal differences, espcially in the field offices

Pros

Good staff. Good belief in the mission to help others. If based overseas, there are good opportunities to move up the career path and get experience in different sectors and different countries. Good benefits.

Cons

The career path at HQ is not so clear/linear. Salaries are not that high - though benefits are good.

A great place to grow professionally

Pros

A great organization with a very dedicated senior management. Plenty of opportunities to grow professionally and a great community to have personally. CRS is all about staff care, so it's great for family people that want some flexibility now and then.

Cons

Varying levels of program quality depending on the country program which is not entirely CRS' fault. Also, some national staff stay for years even with less than adequate performance which demotivates those who work hard As all other NGOs, networking and knowing people within the organizations goes a long way
