People are kidding themselves if they think this is a good place to work
Pros
I will admit that there are pockets within the company where things are better than others. Pay is decent. Flat organization allows for good exposure to upper management. They hire talented people (they just have a hard time keeping them around)
Cons
The same flat organization doesn't provide enough room to grow. I know people who have been here for 10 on a good career path, but have never had a direct report. In many cases a person's first managerial role has 50+ direct reports. How can you possibly learn who the good managers are this way? Often you report to one person, but someone else does your performance reviews because the person you report to just doesn't like/want to do it. It is quite frustrating to report to someone who you don't actually work for. They do not care about people or employee development. In fact, they don't want people to go out and get professional certifications because they know that they will leave once they have the opportunity. This all culminates in 25+% turnover. It's seriously ridiculous how quickly people come in and out of this place.
