Uncapped Commission!

Business Outlook

Pros

You have the ability to get out of this job, exactly what you put into it. With uncapped earning potential and selling a product that has become a necessity for the majority of people, the money is wonderful. Leadership cares about your growth, and work life balance is where it needs to be.

Cons

No Paid Time Off, but you have the ability to take time for vacations as long as you work out the schedule.

Pros

If you want a soul draining company that doesn't care about you and will force you to do illegal things just to get a sale then you'll love this company.

Cons

-Employees have informed customers that insurance is required even though it's not and this is just used to get higher commission. -Employees have been physical with customers and other employees in store. -Will persuade customers to get a Motorola phone just because it's higher commission and not care how horrible the phone is. -They threaten to fire you for every little thing you do. -Managers can't even reach quotas set by higher ups but then gaslight employees that don't reach the quotas. -Higher ups have been caught working under the influence of alcohol. -Their commission structure is awful and is made to screw the employee over because you have to meet so many aspects just for number to go up and to get commission. Your numbers will go down by just selling a phone. -You will have to work a full probationary year. If you don't, you will have to pay all bonuses back.

Pros

Profit per device sold is incredible and likely the best in industry. Great coworkers and decent store manager/team lead. Very competitive culture but not overly toxic competition. Flexible schedule is achievable by swapping shifts/picking up from other reps. High traffic areas had reps earning 80k+

Cons

You will have to sell some products and services (verizon visa card, insurance, etc.) that make a lot per each sold, but aren't really a great decision for the customer, which can lead to some customer resentment. You will miss out on comms if you are stuck helping a customer instead of selling. This encourages reps to skimp out on helping people with advanced devices, especially the elderly, in favor of making more money. HOWEVER, if the customer is not satisfied with your help in any way and decides to leave a nasty review, you will be in the line of fire with management. In rural/low traffic markets, you will be forced to use tactics that the top 10% of reps use just to survive. It makes you a better salesperson, but the rewards are not as plentiful. I made 54k gross my first year and 32k the second because I worked in a low traffic area (my hometown.) You also will need to drink the koolaid a fair bit to even think about getting anywhere on the ladder, but keep in mind that if you are a hunter who needs to be pulled back some, you will probably be okay vs a gatherer that needs a little push here and there. You will be expected to push a high profit device on every person that enters, including people that cannot afford it.
