Pros

Very little supervision . If you are in the top 5%, you will make it 50,000.

Cons

You will drive an hour each way not reimbursed . 3 months before your first commission check . You will live off $10.88 an hour for three months . The recruiters will paint a much better picture if you inquire . It’s a lie. They will try to deny your unemployment if you don’t make it . The only you make money is by accessories being overpriced , raising peoples rate plans and putting $17 insurance on people already overpriced rate plans . If the customers remove or change rate plan within 6 months you lose your commission . There were 23 people in my training class. I was the only one left after a year . I was a level 4 rep on my way to five . I was in the 5% and I feel this way. Believe in yourself somewhere else .

Pros

You can make over 6 figures a year. There is a lot of mobility as far as working in different stores, picking up extra shifts, etc. The folks on the Corporate Verizon side were always very supportive. The trainer I had was great. Very engaging and informative.

Cons

Very little accountability, people are allowed to be late 6 times a month before they can possibly be let go. Store level management doesn’t have any disciplinary power. It’s very much a Wolf of Wall Street vibe, you get paid a lot (2-3x)more for selling lower quality phones. Money seems to be the most important thing to everyone especially management. There seems to be a lot of drinking at work for some of the upper level management, stories of the GM asking new reps to stop at the liquor store to buy booze for the work day. Market trainer getting kicked off calls for being too drunk! Many other similar stories! Market level management doesn’t seem to care about employees, it’s commission only, during COVID lockdowns the reps still had to work full time and were still commission only, while the directors left the state. Hard to earn commission when everything is closed and you’re getting 1-2 customers a week. Very little real room for advancement, most of the store level leadership were very unhappy and had little real authority. Money drives everything!

Money, time management, flexible hours.

Cons

Bonus structure is constantly changing and hard to obtain even though you consistently increase sales volume.
