      Don't get on a sinking ship - Bad morale and heading for bankruptcy

      Pros

      The major pro is a good work life balance. The potential to work one day from home is nice - if you can get it. Flexible work hours if needed.

      Cons

      Lots of re-orgs. Old management team out, new management team in - bringing their cronies with them. 300+ people let go already this year and more to come. Implementing a new digital product development model that's untested and half baked. Management has figured out how to set up the top tier of managers, but hasn't figured out how anything will actually get produced. Absolutely no training, development, or career path for existing employees. You are hired into a position and are expected to stay there.

      This company is headed for bankruptcy...do not kid yourself

      Pros

      It used to be the people and the support of the former management

      Cons

      Close to 300 talented, hard working and loyal employees in sales, sales management and editorial, were laid off within the last year alone. (Interestingly enough, one of the persons in the video below was also laid off.) Influx of executives hired from Pearson who are bringing in their teams/recruits. Company trying to turn into a mini-Pearson. Sorry, but it's too little too late.
