Good Mission, very questionable ethics

Pros

Organizational mission as a PACE program. Some staff very dedicated to the point of constant self-sacrifice to keep organization afloat

Cons

This company callously ignores employee rights and medical recommendations for the patients they care for. Some hourly staff working 12-14 hour days with no respite or pay for overtime due to understaffing, reports of sexual & verbal harassment rampant with many managers openly verbally threatening staff. Staff is poorly educated on continuing education and resists up to date medical practice. Below market pay and compensation. Underperforming staff continues to stay in the organization pushing out dedicated staff constantly bring down the morale of the organization. Burnout is very high even in comparison to other healthcare positions.

Senior advocates

Pros

This organization is such a positive influence in the senior community and everyone is passionate about senior advocacy. When you witness positive changes in the lives of the seniors you serve it motivates you to go over and beyond. Coworkers are very supportive of each other in spite of senior leadership using the divide and conquer strategy what makes it feel like you are really working as a Team.

Cons

It's an unorganized organization. Some of the directors and admistrative staff don't understand their roll which is causing employees to leave the company faster than they accepted the job position.

Mission is the reason to work here

Pros

they were mission oriented with the goal to provide severely chronically disabled seniors a safe and happy home with pro-active medical, nutritional, social, and recreational activities to ensure they live as happy healthy as possible. Committed direct care staff

Cons

micro-managing at it's finest. There is very little trust between executive management causing a negative trickle down effect with staff. The pay is not as competitive as other industries, but you know working for a not for profit this is the way. huge turn over, no overlap of staff
