Avoid - Better Options Out There

Pros

Solid teammates below the Senior Director levels, good PTO, good health coverage. 401k match is standard, not great. Remote work.

Cons

In many aspects they move slower than the government. Every decision has to go all the way to the top of the company and back down the ladder. It is a very 1970s-1980s style of management and very DOD centric. Very boomer heavy culture and mindset. Due to some of the recent decisions they have found themselves in the crosshairs of many politicians in Washington. They continue to waste money on programs that have zero to no chance at generating any revenue because of ideological beliefs. If you are working below the director level, you will most likely be fine. Above that, you will not be allowed to make any impactful decisions. Anything of significance will have to go to the CEO to be signed off on. Prepare to be gaslit continously if things go sideways. They've suffered massive cuts to their federal funding and were completelly caught offguard even though the writing was clearly on the wall. I would wait for the dust to settle before considering a job there, there's a very good chance they have suffered a mortal wound and won't be recovering any time soon if at all. Ignore the positive reviews on here, they have little to no substance. The other critical reviews are spot on.

Terrible Exec Leadership

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

The organization has talented, hardworking employees who care deeply about their work and the mission. Many teams continue to perform well despite ongoing uncertainty at the executive level.

Cons

The company suffers from a serious executive leadership problem that has significantly damaged employee trust and morale. A large number of employees were laid off, followed shortly by the hiring of multiple new executives. This sequence was difficult for employees to reconcile and created the perception that financial decisions were not aligned with stated priorities or operational realities. Decision-making at the top appears to be driven more by personal preference and executive relationships than by data, performance metrics, or clearly articulated business strategy. Certain executives and initiatives receive strong support regardless of outcomes, while others are deprioritized without transparent explanation. As a result, confidence in the executive leadership team is extremely low across much of the organization, especially of the CEO. While individual executives may be capable, the overall team appears constrained by a culture where dissent is discouraged and alignment is enforced rather than earned. This has led to an environment where employees feel unheard, uncertain about the future, and disconnected from leadership decisions that directly affect their work and livelihoods.

Pros

Good benefits, up to date tech

Cons

Pay is far below industry standards, especially if working from an expensive part of the country, leadership in many depts is cripplingly indecisive, no real product/service pipeline, most leaders promoted from inside the company and long tenured are incompetent.
