Worst job I have ever had

Pros

Generous vacation time and some good people

Cons

Awful HR department that are terrified of the union. The employees do whatever they feel like , the supervisors have no authority, horrible morale, understaffed because the company would rather buy catered meals than pay for labor. Upper management is far more concerned with keeping the same employees so their numbers look good than they are having quality employees.

Mission-driven organization with engaged leadership

Pros

The organization's mission is at the forefront of how the organization is run. Leadership is deeply engaged in the work of the organization and make a real effort to listen to staff. The organization employs clients, making good on their commitment to supporting self-sufficiency. I've worked at numerous homeless service nonprofits, and this is one of the most professional, well-run organizations I've come across.

Cons

While diversity is important to the organization, this is not well-reflected in the demographics of the leadership.
