Pros

The culture is like no other; there is a family atmosphere where there is trust and accountability. I have been here 10 years with no desire to even look to see what else is out there. I came here with no prior insurance knowledge and Central has paid for 4 insurance-related designations. They will invest in you if you're willing to invest in yourself! Great benefits and competitive wages, along with a pension that is fairly unheard of in this day & age.

Pros

Central started as small-town, family-run company, and even after all its growth, it maintains that feeling for the customers and employees. They really walk the walk on their culture of cultivating and servicing relationships inside and outside the company. The people who work with Central truly enjoy and take pride in their work. Most people retire or spend the majority of their career here. The executives at home office (including Bill Purmort) know who you are and have an open door policy, and work to make you comfortable enough to use it. The compensation and benefits are nice, but actually enjoying your work environment is worth so much more.

Cons

Since many employees stay with Central so long, there is not always the immediate ability to "move up". That being said, if you let your management team know where you want to end up, they will work with you to ensure you have the opportunities necessary to meet those end goals.

Pros

No IT contracting positions! The benefits offered at Central are much better than with my previous employer. Both a pension and 401K are offered! Training here is exceptional. The IT office in Dublin, OH is close to home. It's a small-town company feel in a larger city! There's a real sense of family within the company.

Cons

The pay isn't the best I've been offered. However, the benefits, distance from home, the fact that all coworkers are employees and the amount of training provided more than make up for the difference in salary for me!
