Pros

Overall Central Market is a good retail job. I make more here than I would at similar jobs and the work environment is pretty good. Overall it is a good job for someone in school or something on the side. I would not want it as a career though. Their is technically job advancement available as well.

Cons

This store has had some management issues. Also, employee development seems to have fallen by the wayside. This is partially due to a glut of over qualified employees.

Pros

If nothing else, you get to spend your time around one of the best-stocked supermarkets in the country. Various cheeses, meats, wines - anything you can conjure - surround you.

Cons

-The management is abysmal. Employees are treated like third-rate human beings. -You see firsthand everything that the management does to cut corners - even if it means peddling near-rotten food products. -Your manager can/will/does change your schedule on a whim, and there is nothing you can do about it. -Your manager instructs you to do something incorrectly/stupidly/inefficiently (against your protestations), and then harangues you for following their directions.

Pros

Everyone is so friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere...wonderfully staffed, so if someone on your team calls in, it still feels well staffed. Great leaders...great work uniforms..JEANS!!!

Cons

Work Work Work....even when it is slow the managers expect you to be moving. If there is nothing to do they still want you to appear to be doing something. This can be taxing at times.
