The job itself is interesting. Plenty of opportunity for overtime.
Cons
The company is not very accommodating during the pandemic. Staff shortages everywhere, not enough in any of our facility for the needs of the offender population. Do they properly compensate or attempt to keep current staff? No. Instead, lets advertise for new staff, offer them a bonus for coming in and hire them in for more than your current staff. Many employees asked for raises and were refused. On site management are of little assistance and have to be harped on constantly to address problems from needing supplies, fixing timecards, payroll errors or constantly reminded of things they ask for then get mad at staff when they forget. Then gets upset when you take your issues up the chain of command. Company has 'townhalls' with the management via zoom, will only address questions they want to and ignore questions about compensation for current employees working through the pandemic or hazard pay.
