Pros

Some of the people are really nice, and they provide a lot of insight on how to grow both professionally and personally.

Cons

Sometimes getting a job here or a promotion isn't about your experience or qualifications, but who you know.

Pros

Generally easy job for mediocre pay. You can easily go to work and collect your pay check without really any incentive or pressure to do (any) work.

Cons

Very little room to move up. There is a saying that gov employees die clinging to their desks and this is certainly true. Also serving the public regarding taxes can make you hate your life; as the constituents can treat you terribly.
