Toxic positivity as a workplace culture. Unrealistic expectations and standards for employees.
Primary therapists have to see around 28 high acuity clients a week. Notes need to be completed in 24 hours, treatment plans need to be updated every 30 days. Your efficacy as a clinician is based on key performance indicators such as no-shows, client attendance, and survey scores. The company also uses percentages for how quickly you update treatment plans, initial treatment plans, and safety plans.
Supervisors don’t provide clinical support, they are more concerned about the percentages and numbers listed above.
I cannot express how often I have felt minimized, unheard, and gaslit by my supervisor for not wanting to continue seeing a family due to the mom berating me and questioning my credentials in a session.
The response I received was : “this is just the type of clientele you are going to see, have empathy for the parent”.
Instead of seeing clinicians as actual HUMANS, they expect us to perform like robots. More concerned about the money than the actual quality of care clients receive.
Additionally, I have had multiple clients not get the accommodations they have asked for/been lied to about what the program entails from intake coordinators (I recently found out intake coordinators have monthly quotas so they attempt to push as many people through as possible, even if they are not a good fit for the program). When I discussed this with my supervisor, it was disregarded and dismissed.
Higher ups evade questions about the security of our recorded sessions being updated onto the cloud.
Poor communication and continuation of care between departments. It all feels so fake. The amount of micromanaging that I saw during my time being employed there was ridiculous. It’s as if they don’t believe clinicians know how to do their job correctly.
I could go on and on about how this company has tanked my mental and physical wellbeing…
