Pros

The worklife/compensation package is good. It's a strong company with a lot of stability.

Cons

Internal mobility is practically non-existant. While you can move slightly upwards in the same line of business, if you're looking to move into a different department it's practically impossible make a transition. I spent over a year looking internally, applying to job postings which I had the skill sets for I never recieved a call from HR. Also they do not like to invest in their employees, they would not sponsor me for any extra licenses or education that would have kept me from moving upwards in the company.

Pros

It offers you the ability to truly help others with their finances. Once you have a solid grasp on the products and services, you can profile customers and determine what we can offer to help improve their financial situation. Unlimited commission opportunities on the sales side also allows for great incomes assuming you're good at what you do.

Cons

Because of management styles and goals, retail banking now consists of a lot of product pushing. Often times it feels as though everyone is out for No. One and willing to screw other employees and customers in order to make themselves shine. Further, during the interview process you are told that opportunity for advance is unlimited but that's only a half truth. If you plan on staying in retail, there is opportunity to take on new positions. However, if your goal is to eventually move into JPMorgan with another line of business, I wouldn't suggest retail banking.

Pros

Amazing company where you truely have control in managing a business, having a direct impact to the bottom line and shareholder growth.

Cons

As a company, we need to do a better job recoginizing employees from a management and peer to peer level. We could make a huge impact by linking the proper rewards and recoginition for performance and service with more rewards and more management and peer to peer kudos....Generate the energy and spirit within our employees and we will have a bigger impact to the brand and customer experience.
