Decent company, major shift in culture

Pros

- Great immediate coworkers & management - Work-life balance (depends on the org/role) is great. - Amazing benefits package - Work is impactful and has meaning - Post reduction in force: promotions and cross-org movement is higher than ever.

Cons

- Reduction in force in April 2024, after a company kick-off event in February 2024 where millions were spent. - Company culture has been slowly changing in the last few years. Went from "making Checkr the best place to work" to "high-performance environment." Coupled with the RIF in 2024, the culture is rather scattered as the people left behind struggle to pick up the pieces, leading to low morale. - Pay band and salary have been restructured to be lower across the board. This leads to a couple of problems: if you're a new employee in 2024, you're most likely being underpaid compared to an employee who got hired in 2023 and earlier. If you're a tenured employee: the new pay bands mean that growth opportunity is limited when it comes to pay - a senior position may now pay as much as the position you're currently in, leading to promotions without any change in compensation. - Reliance on third-party contractors, especially in the operations org. While the finance numbers are good, the support team is going through some growing pains and poor customer experiences. - Checkr 2023 and earlier was 5/5. However, they are now starting to operate like a large public company to cut costs and grow profits. For folks who like a startup environment, this may no longer be a good place for you.

Pros

Some of the people were the best I've worked with

Cons

Went through 33% layoffs recently, with more including some of my coworkers silently pushed out before and after Management not being held accountable No sustainable strategy to address recent struggles with revenue/profitability: Laying off/offshoring important positions might only make the numbers look good for the next quarter but will come back to bite you later on Please focus on running the business instead of creating policies to drive attrition (RTO badge tracking, low raises, etc)

Pros

* Good company, benefits, perks and pay * People are very collaborative, smart people * Good focus on community building

Cons

* The hub strategy is creating a divide between employees in main locations and everyone else * Q1 and Q2 were tough, with layoffs and reorgs
