Pros
Chef had a solid corp administration staff in place lead by Barry and a team of strong executives. All the sales and engineering staff had deep product and industry knowledge. Customer Success was a high priority with metrics for success defined. Not perfect growth financial numbers but strong financial leadership.
Cons
Product direction changed frequently. Since the acquisition people are not so high on the list of priorities and the culture took a hit as well as the customers and most everyone knew it although the new leadership did not acknowledge. Difficult to maintain the same level of support while cutting 50%+ of the engineering expertise was the questions many customers asked and noticed. Left the remaining team with a heavy burden
