Cause of many mental breakdowns

Pros

Good Salary and good benefits

Cons

The single most misleading and abusive company I have ever worked for. Company brands itsself as a "Hypergrowth" and "Caring" company touting as "Best place to work in South Florida" but the reality is that its all a marketing scam to onboard and hire new people as the truth is that the company has a 45-80% turnover rate depending on department. I was genuinely excited to join the company only to have realized all these lies a week in. A "hypergrowth" company that abuses the best workers by creating PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) and firing them with excuses of poor performance as it doesn't want to admit that there are financial struggles and is laying off. I've never seen such a poor and abusive tactic. Centers are burdened as senior leaders taunt the cult like mantra of the "chenmed way" and talking about how "happy everyone is" but virtually everyone is dissatisfied with someone quitting almost every week. Leadership will also scold you and write you up if you don't lie to your coworkers about the dysfunctional leadership and overworked employees. Company applauds employees for doing excess overtime instead of addressing the issue that we're HEAVILY understaffed. In all my years, working at fast food is a better experience then here. I've had multiple mental breakdowns from the level of lies and abuse this company. STAY AWAY and listen to the other reviews!

We’re sorry your experience with us wasn’t more positive. We are a hypergrowth company – adding approximately 30 new centers this year as we lead a healthcare revolution that is reimaging the future of patient care. This kind of responsibility creates a culture that isn’t right for everyone. We leverage continuous learning and development to support our growth and adapt to the changes that growth creates. We rely on and trust our committed, gifted, team members to give us feedback. They help us maintain a workplace where employee satisfaction is high and people realize the personal and professional fulfillment that comes from working in a dynamic, ever-changing, growing organization.

Pros

Good training on lifestyle medicine (the underlying cause of diseases).

Cons

The customer is always right to an extreme... Customer service is taken to a level that is toxic. Patient assaults you (physically hits you). Not discharged. Not criminally charged. Probably transferred to another physician possibly at another local center. Patient threatens to KILL you or your family (because you won't prescribe narcotics inappropriately)...no discipline for the patient. Patient threatens to 'go postal' and shoot up the office...give staff and clinicians 'active shooter training' that in effect instructs you to run away. The sexual harassment and even sexual assault to the staff are ignored, and not by delirious or demented patients.

We take matters such as violence or abusive behavior directed towards anyone in our centers seriously and take swift action to address through a variety of ways to include corrective measures such as behavioral letters up to and including disenrollment from our practice. We also provide our leaders with training on how to de-escalate issues with patients and the protocols for keeping our staff, patients and visitors safe. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention.

Pros

Nothing that I see only in this company

Cons

* Mass layoff * No work life balance * They won’t match 401k for 2 years from date of join * The people who are in company for 5 years they don’t want new people and success here they will not share knowledge at all. * Lot of people won’t speak English they speak Spanish * please don’t think it will happen to you it will definitely happen to you * I never seen company like this without sharing knowledge Advise to the developers in the company If they don’t want new colleagues to join in the company please report to CEO. simple Example: there are no employee between 1 year to 4 years all the current employees are more than 4 years to 8 years means they employee who is joining they are laying off with in 1 year,

Lots of misinformation, or misunderstanding, in this review so I feel compelled to ensure everyone appreciates the reality of being a part of our team. In 2020, while many other organizations experienced financial distress, mass layoffs, and some even had to close their doors, ChenMed was blessed to hire over 2,000 new team members. Today we employ more than 3,500 people. Almost 40 percent of them have been with the organization between one and four years. That’s the truth. Obviously, with 2,000 new team members starting last year, the number of people here between one and four years will increase dramatically in the next eight months. And we continue to grow across the United States -- adding more team members every day. So, the percentage of people here between one and four years will again increase dramatically in 2022 and beyond. So, what it is really like to work with us? As a fast-growing organization that has doubled in size over the past few years (and will do it again in the near-term future), we enjoy working hard. We are passionate and we would not have it any other way. We do deal with a lot of change because we are growing, adjusting, and continuously improving. We also recognize that some people genuinely struggle with change and do not embrace a constantly evolving environment. Many do, especially when they see the difference we make in the lives of our seniors. Across all our locations, including Miami, we fully embrace the diversity and inclusion of each of our team members. We also take care of team members through our benefits programs. We have improved our benefit offerings without large increases in employee contributions over the past two years. Our 401(k) starts matching employee contributions as soon as they are eligible to contribute, and our 2-year vesting period is shorter than many other companies. At ChenMed, we want to reach even more seniors; and we will not compromise our love for seniors or passion to reach and take care of them. We extend that same love, passion, and commitment to our team members. After all, we can’t take care of others unless we take care of ourselves first.
