Pros

free snacks? lots of joking around in the IT department?

Cons

CTO/CIO is obsessed with windows products and all things microsoft. Company hires a chaplain to force prayers at formal gatherings and then fires all of our Java developers (good christian decision making) Good managers are frustrated and give up. terrible managers are promoted. Benefits department promises tuition assistance and then changes their mind.

Pros

The pay was good and there was great folks who were passionate and intelligent

Cons

The toxic work culture is further exacerbated by a pervasive lack of transparency and direction within the company. The absence of strategic plans leaves employees in a perpetual state of uncertainty, contributing to a constant anxious feeling. The absence of a structured promotion system compounds the issue, as individuals with performance improvement plans (PIPs) are inexplicably promoted, eroding the sense of fairness and stability. Furthermore, the leadership landscape is marred by underqualified leaders who have not received the necessary mentorship and support to excel in their roles. The promotion decisions seem to be driven more by personal relationships than objective criteria, further eroding trust and contributing to a lack of stability within the organization. The company's lack of stability is intensified by a pattern of reactive decision-making, leading to continual changes that further contribute to the chaotic work environment. The absence of proactive planning not only fuels the uncertainty but also hinders the establishment of a cohesive and effective organizational structure. This constant state of flux amplifies the challenges faced by employees, creating a work culture where adaptability is valued over stability, fostering an atmosphere of perpetual instability and unease.

Pros

They have potential to be everything they claim to be but fail to genuinely care for their staff's life/work balance and stability.

Cons

Communication/transparency doesn't exist until it's too late. Bonuses were taken away from deserving employees because the company failed to manage their budget appropriately. No announcement was made until 2 days before the bonuses were expected to be distributed. Unqualified employees get promoted/hired and then they wonder why everything is going down hill so quickly. Regional leaders don't know enough about the positions they are overseeing/directing. Lots of "leader" responsibilities pawned onto underpaid/under appreciated employees (& no credit given for doing their jobs for them).
