Pros

Dedication to their mission, people, and sustainable growth.

Cons

No cons. I have over 20 years of professional experience ranging from small business to large corporations. No place is perfect, but Chesapeake Utilities does a great job of not only making profits, but also treating people with the utmost respect.

Pros

Good benefits, Significant paid time off and sick leave not only for yourself but for family as well.

Cons

HR department is like the Gestapo. They make decisions and create policy effecting workers when they have no real clue what the workers do or experience. They seem to simply keep creating more oversight to justify their existence, making it more and more difficult to do your job. It actually feels as though they are looking for ways to get the employees in trouble. Instead of hiring a replacement, management has a habit of distributing a recently retired or terminated employee's duties to the other in people in the department permanently. These other people are not compensated for the additional workload. Middle management is full of hopeful ladder climbers willing to step on anyone to get ahead. Think backstabbing rumor mongering high school girl nonsense.

Pros

Parties, food, some coworkers were great to work with

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism in senior management. There were managers that senior management knew were ineffective but they kept them in place, even after losing employee after employee.
