The place to go, if you want to kill your career

Pros

Can't get fired for incompetence. If you like to talk the talk, but can't walk the walk, this is a great place.

Cons

Mentally stuck in the 1980's some 1950's. No room for career advancement if you are not a Donald Trump supporter. Bait and switch with job duties without a raise in wages for hard to find skillsets.

Good Job, Bad Micromanagement

Pros

9/80 work schedule; Bonuses are usually good and have been always paid every year even it is a down year

Cons

Need more flexibility in work schedules to create a better work/home life balance, especially for employees that are required to care for serious home issues and work a full time job. Don't provide sick and vacation time and then threaten to take the time away from employees because these are benefits or perks of employment. HR keeps certain employees from development, forcing people to stay in positions for months to years because they see the employee as a problem because of a host of potential reasons. You may miss out on career advancement and learning opportunities. HR will always back a supervisor, not believing that an employee is telling any truth. There's really no where to report issues of a coworker to when HR and that person are together all of the time. If a 25+ year tenured supervisor or coworker does wrong, they should be let go just as quickly as someone would be that has been with the company for 5 years or less. Micromanagement from mid-level supervision is horrible. Especially if the supervisor came from a parent company or other CPChem location that didn't trust employees so the supervisor continues to pay it forward several years later. Supervisors manage their people as though the employees are always trying to get something over on the them or company.
