      Pros

      The organization is truly committed to a great set of corporate values, particularly around health, safety, and ethical business practices. They permeate every program and are embedded in the everyday culture of employees here.

      Cons

      We have an interesting dynamic. Although it's rapidly changing business climate, and quick responses are needed, the high-dollar risks entailed mean we must use a complex decision evaluation and execution process, with huge amounts of collaboration. This can be frustrating to some who want more independence or speed.

      Pros

      Good training and lots of opportunity to see different operations around the world, good expat packages in most locations

      Cons

      Lots of bureaucracy, slow decisions and a reluctance of letting young engineers take on more responsibility. Management jobs are just enforcing policies rather than meaningful work.

      Pros

      Great pay and benefits. Very professional atmosphere. Very strong balance sheet. Awesome retirement should you manage to make it that long. Lots of career opportunity if you are willing to move to San Ramon or Houston.

      Cons

      Too political and placements are based upon who you know. Similar to other companies. Unfortunately, Chevron is in the process of exiting marketing and moral is down. The smart folks are working to transfer out of Marketing to survive as Chevron proceeds to exit Marketing.
