Pros

-Diverse workforce except for upper management -Desire to succeed and become the #1 online retailer for pet care -It is a job

Cons

Don't believe the fake reviews that managers tell their staff to write for Kudos. The average tenure of an employee is one year, if they can put up with the b.s. Fluff benefits like a happy hour (4 beers per month, yes it’s restricted) are laughable once you realize all the stress you have to deal with from managers and co-workers. Why not find a better job then go to the gas station and get a six pack? So many professionals in South Florida know to avoid this company, so they can’t finding people locally. Add the zika virus into the mix, and that makes it even harder. Some move to Florida for the job, get duped and then have to relocate because of the poor South Florida job market. Buyer beware. Here are some other cons: -They try to replicate Amazon desperately but without the budget, talented staff, or thier CEO. -One week I recall 40 people getting fired, the average is 5 – 10 but always at least one person. For a company of about 2000, that is poor retention. Again, be very careful if you are moving from another state. -I've seen staff members crying in the DCOTA stairwells and hallways due to workplace stress or poor treatment from inexperienced and untrained managers . -A cult-like culture exists where you are supposed to give everything to the company without much appreciation for all your hard work. There are no stock options, 401K matching, or bonuses, so people work extra with the hope of getting noticed, but don’t fall for that one. -No on-going training, or care for employees, because they want to sell the company to Amazon or a competitor. Therefore costs (I mean benefits) are managed to benefit the corporation’s bottom line. There is little room for advancement unless you are one of the few who wants to work 60 hours per week, reducing your salary by 34%. -You are promised the world when you interview (and that Chewy.com is the greatest company ever), rather than getting honest answers about the state of the company. When you start working and find out the truth, it's too late because you have to pay bills. -Some IT staff members spend hours looking for jobs online or in virtual labs preparing for certifications. They can easily disable the proxy and browse unnoticed. -Due to lack of leadership favoritism, unethical behavior, and unfriendly staff thrive. Many try to make themselves look good at the expense of their co-workers. Make sure to smile when you get thrown under the bus. -No private or public cloud, manual IT philosophy, with little automation. -Unsupported or under provisioned IT equipment regularly used in production combined with weak documentation and tribal knowledge leads to preventable support issues and unexpected outages. -Expect to receive emails during all hours of the day or night so be ready to have your phone by you 24/7, or you have the risk of looking like you don't "care" for the company. -Drinking the Chewy Kool-aid works with younger staff members, but anyone who’s gained experienced and achieved career success will realize it’s all a manipulation tactic to get more work out of staff -Few senior IT staff members have been with the company for one year.

Pros

Mindless work. They hire anybody-60 people EVERY month. How many end up staying less than 10.....says Alot.

Cons

They work you 10 hr days with two 15 min breaks and one 30 min unpaid break. By the time you clock out and goto lunch room to eat you have maybe 15 min to eat. The management in pm is horrible. If somebody threatens your life they do nothing about it. They are concerned about safety but not homebodies life. This place is racist. If you want a job where you can listen to awful degrading and offensive music this is the place for you.
