Pros
CMAA offers many impactful social services to the Chicagoland community, including youth programming, care for the elderly, and workforce assistance to help immigrants get living-wage jobs. Vast majority of staff members are very dedicated, and many care for each other so much that the joke is that no one ever really leaves the CMAA "family," as many former staff remain involved in various volunteer capacities. The Board of Directors is also very diverse and includes many of the leaders of the AAPI community in Illinois. The management team has strong leaders in many key positions. If you look at the organization's fiscal 990's, the agency has a strong financial position, particularly since 2013, as it has grown from $4M annually to now over $10M annually.
Cons
Like many non-profit organizations, the agency is still challenged in wanting to fill more needed administrative staff members.
