      Experience in the ICU

      Pros

      As a new grad RN, the critical care residency program is helpful in preparing a new nurse for working in the ICU or on a stepdown unit. The ICU does a great job of ensuring safe ratios and the nursing staff is incredibly helpful and enjoys teaching new grads.

      Cons

      There is a disconnect with the nursing staff and the providers (NPs and PAs). When issues arise, we have been told to simply Midas the provider and do not see any change come from that.
