Pros

Compensation, flexibility, benefits, location, shuttle in between campuses

Cons

Co-workers who are more concerned about what I do, as opposed to the job they are supposed to be doing. Management who turns a blind eye to the tension within the department. Co-workers who talk a good game, but have no clue of what they are doing.

Pros

Christiana Care is an excellent option for an Internal Medicine Residency. It is a large community hospital ideally located near Philadelphia & Baltimore. While it is not a University based hospital, it is the major trauma center for Delaware and has pretty much all the sub-specialties you need. It also is the major delivery hospital for Del with the majority of deliveries in Delaware taking place here. New fellowships are being formed each year with Nephrology & Cardiology being the current options.

Cons

Not University based. Major area in need of improvement is in research, both bench and clinical.

Pros

The monetary compensation surpasses any other acute care facility in delaware. Technologically they are comparable if not better then most facilities in the region.

Cons

administration does not support the bedside nurses or promote shared decision making as they would like to believe. it seems they like to make you believe there is shared decision making when there really isn't. it still all boils down to what administration wants. After 4 1/2 years working there we were told we would no longer receive health benefits upon retiring. I was told upon being hired that this would be a benefit I would be receiving hence a good recruitment tool for me.
