      You will be a Resource for a large company that cares nothing about you

      Pros

      High salary. Team support on-site ("the Ciber guys"). Very good computers supplied for work. Good benefits. I liked the Ciber sales guy.

      Cons

      Recruiter made a deal that the corporation did not keep. Incredibly clumsy bureaucracy: for time cards, "on-boarding", expense reports. The PeopleSoft website has the appearance and feel of a site designed in the late Twentieth Century. Lots of "do it twice" to get the result that you want. Never any personal contact with any manager or admin assistant, but lots of requirements, expressed in impolite ways, to "fill out the forms correctly." Corporate integrity is a real problem.

      Many great opportunities, but a lack of execution and strategy

      Pros

      Compensation is good. Ciber tends to hire people that have strong experience with global IT firms, so many of the employees have tremendous experiences to draw on.

      Cons

      In trying to service many different aspects of the IT services landscape, a lack of focus inhibits solid sustainable performance. This has led to many different offerings and consulting practices that are very thin and depend on the involvement of a few key people. Repeatable processes across the company are rare, so account teams are left to succeed or fail based on their local talents rather than on some larger body of work that has been leveraged across multiple clients. Unfortunately, this results in unpredictable results with client engagements.

      Avoid accepting a job with Ciber

      Pros

      If you're just starting career, can be an ok first job- but treat it like that. Don't settle in; continue job search and get out of CIBER as soon as you can.

      Cons

      Horrible corporate culture. Leadership lacks integrity & accountability. Shysters. No opportunity for growth. Account executives I worked with were clueless and only good for an occasional free lunch. Regional manager was inaccessible, out of touch and didn't care about clients or consultants.
