Pros

Laid back culture Flexible Trusting/No micro-managing Great attitudes Events/Holiday Events with activities and prizes Super inclusive On the hype train for diversity and equality Extremely receptive to issues you bring up "Floating Holidays" "KUDOS" program; getting monetary rewards for recognition from client.

Cons

Do not get paid more for being in a manager-level role/team lead. Not a ton of leadership training was provided until I asked for it. Pay is lower than industry standards. Cannot use Unpaid Time Off until ALL PTO is used. Get PTO in two chunks; first half Jan 1st, second half July 1st. No bonuses, which was something they WERE doing when I signed on, but I guess stopped without telling anyone. Not a ton of room for career growth/moving up.

Pros

Cinder is a great place to get your foot in the door in the tech industry. The recruiters are excellent and can get a good idea of where your skills are needed. After you start work, Cinder is pretty hands-off, which is great when it comes to staffing agencies. I was able to move up pretty quickly from the validation side of things into the automation side which is what I wanted to do, and there's room to move into positions with the company that you work for.

Cons

Cinder itself isn't really interested in retaining employees, so the compensation + PTO is lower than the market rate, and raises are small at best. The work is great, but it's best to stay at Cinder for a couple of years at most and then jump to a better offer.

Pros

Friendly people, good initial orientation, useful corporate website, almost regular quarterly lunches. In many ways they provide more than the average contract shop -- which often is little more than a paycheck, & no promise of work after the current contract ends.

Cons

One of (the many) drawbacks of being a contract employee is a lack of contact & belonging to the company that issues you a paycheck. Despite some initial attempts, this was very much the case with Cinder: after the first month or so, I felt as if I was on my own. What compounded this problem was that the corporation who contracted with Cinder decided to switch suppliers while keeping the people on site -- which was handled less than competently. The new company was unable to make us direct employees, & we all had to become 1099 contractors for the new employer, with all of the challenges that has. When that contract ended, I found myself in the usual situation of any contractor: scrambling for my next paying job. (So I never learned if Cinder wanted to keep their promise of keeping me on their payroll.) In short: while I sort of drifted away from them, I honestly felt there was little effective attempt to devote time or resources into developing me as an employee or otherwise keeping me one.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of Cinder Staffing. We appreciate you mentioning the friendly people here, our quarterly team lunches, useful website and the good initial orientation. We, of course, regret to hear of your experience when the client you were working for changed staffing suppliers! We work diligently to build long term partnerships with our clients in order to avoid this as much as possible but unfortunately, we cannot control when a client chooses to move to a new supplier. Thanks for sharing your experience and know that you are always welcome to reach out to the Cinder executive team at Feedback@TeamCinder.com. We are always striving to improve our processes and truly value employee feedback!
