Pros

I enjoy working at Cipher for a number of reasons. The office environment is friendly, calm and there is a killer view. The company is growing aggressively so opportunities for professional growth come with that. Cipher a is very global operation, so I get to meet people from all over the world and travel opportunities exist. Finally, there is a drive to grow and expand, so new ideas are welcome to get the job done.

Cons

At times, different important projects can compete for time and energy. However, as the company grows, that will lessen so the appropriate amount of focus on each task can be given.

Pros

As an MSSP and QSA company, it gives you the opportunity to learn a lot about Security, MSS and GRC. But it depends only on you because training is inexistent and you need to be well-organized to absorb this knowledge from the structure by yourself and your day to day tasks with some of your co-workers. Because not all of them are willing to help and avoid to do so afraid of being overwhelmed by bad company management.

Cons

The company is a mess, employees do not have a clue about their tasks and roles because management is not clear. Job descriptions are not obeyed and you are requested to be a handyman to cover the company's lack of organization. You can work in a GRC role and be put in a Security task, like a last minute customer meeting because the company does not hire and train properly employees for the services they want to sell to the market. I was reading the other company reviews and it is clear to me that they were forged because nobody in reasonable sanity would give five stars to this company. But if you are in a position that this is your only option, be prepared to accept an offer that you will really regret some time later. About the CEO, he wants the best professionals in the market but cannot maintain them with a structured compensation plan because he is more worried about his expensive lifestyle than creating a great environment to their employees to work.

- Good environment with knowledgeable employees willing to train - Lots to do and learn if willing to put in the effort - Tend to promote from within when new positions are available - Exposure to new technology and trends

Cons

- Evolving processes puts stress on employees to adjust quickly - High expectation of employees to learn new technologies and provide input to improve - Day to day can be repetitive but challenging
