Pros
Cirtec Medical is a great place to be: fast-paced, innovative and with amazing colleagues that are supportive with both internal projects and career development. In my career, I have never received so much guidance and support from my teammates: from engineering being incredibly helpful and showing me around the production floor and guiding through design work, to subject matter experts sharing their knowledge, project managers involving me immediately, quality guiding through training, etc. There’s a fantastic atmosphere here, and because I am also new to the area, I was able to count on my colleagues’ advice on a variety of topics including looking for a home. Both middle and upper management are very experienced and oriented to team building and listening to input from all company levels: from operator to engineer to managers. There’s a lot of collaboration across the teams to get projects finished on time, successfully. I would say everyone who stays has an entrepreneurial, can-do attitude, which is also why I love it here: I am not boxed within my role, I get the opportunity to learn all aspects of the business from engineering to manufacturing, quality, or business development. There’s plenty of work to go around, so absolutely no time to get bored. That being said, this site is growing very fast, and is experiencing some growing pains. In my time here, I have seen problems be identified and addressed rather swiftly, but it’s important to keep in mind these things don’t happen overnight. Some updates are needed across the board (people, process, etc.), but I see them worked on and addressed every single day. There’s not a lot of overtime, and management is very good about employees maintaining a work-life balance (I even got told to not answer emails over the weekend, which has never happened to me before). They are also very open to listening to new ideas, as long as they’re backed up by data and evidence, which I consider fair. There’s plenty of opportunity to learn (and make mistakes), without a risk of being reprimanded. As long as we learn something from the mistake, I feel like management has been pretty understanding and doesn’t assign blame or make anyone feel bad. Honestly, I love coming in to work every day. The work is interesting and varied, I get to learn and grow a lot, and my colleagues are awesome. I don’t feel particularly stressed, I would say I’m more excited about the problems I get to solve and the teams and projects I get to support. Finally, pay is competitive, could use a bit more PTO, healthcare benefits are also competitive, but retirement benefits could be a bit higher.
