Pros

Total compensation is above the average in the industry Free lunch Good health care plan

Cons

People working crazy long hours and try to meet the deadlines that were created artificially by mid level managers. A lot of time and resources were wasted on things rather than focusing on the big picture for investment. You will never hear a thank you or recognization.

Pros

Free breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda. Some smart colleagues.

Cons

No career growth unless you luck out being taken under the wing of a manager who is currently doing well with the CEO. No lateral movement either. Most projects are about fighting fires. Long-term proactive projects do not get the time of day. Everything is siloed with sharing of knowledge on a need to know basis. Some managers play favouritism and so it can get political.

Pros

Great benefits including an on-site gym. Free lunch. Some very intelligent people at the lowest levels. Good foot-in-the-door place for people wanting financial experience.

Cons

The title says it all. That is a direct quote from a Citadel town-hall. "Respect is not a core value" and it shows. I have never seen so many unhappy, over-worked, employees in my life. Operations turnover was 150% the first year I worked there. We ended up hiring from outside the country because Citadel's reputation in the states was so bad. Don't be fooled by the reviews here. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that Citadel hired people to fill out positive reviews. Management literally despises its employees and it shows. Citadel is a culture of blame and builds a culture of hero-worship. When there aren't enough problems to create heroes, management creates fires intentionally so they can be the ones to put them out.
