Pros

I have found that Cit has an extensive global foot print which provides great carrer opportunities especially for somecone who wants to be in emerging markets. THe brand has taken a beating, but the poeple remaining in the IBD team are top notch and the deal exposure is great as a junior banker.

Cons

current turmoil has hit the bank harder than at other banks. THer is unertaiity on long-term prospects and i believe this is impacting the volume of business coming through the door. Wise to stay put at he moment through this cycle and seee what heppens in 2 years time.

Pros

Diversity and globality. It is a business that is far reaching that allows one to explore a number of different businesses under one roof. Citi does value International expereince and a braod range of skills. With offices in over 100 countries the ability to gain valuable insight from a world perspective is easily attainable.

Cons

It is way too large. As much as diversity and globality is a strength it is also a weakness. The busines is just too big for one person to manage and the Company has gotten away from its core value, which is banking. what made Citi successful in teh past has been passed over for sheer size and for making way for a giant financial supermarket. The market has proven that this cannot work, but the reason that this has not worked is that Citi has concentrated more on building and acquiring rather than melding. The busineses are all silos with no money spent on integrating business so that they work as one. Through all of this what has been lost is the innovative spirit that Citi possessed.

Pros

hone your customer service skills, learn what you don't want in your next job. The work life balance is pretty good with this company. It is a great job for university students but there is a quick burnout factor for those employees looking to make this a career.

Cons

lack of support, countiuous layoffs, shut downs every few years, low pay, poor management, disgruntled employees, lack of consistency, low employee morale. All of the good managers seem to move on faily quickly and the ones that you would like to see move on seem to stay around forever. They do not seem to have much of a development plan in place for growing their mangers skills.
