Pros

The ability to create your own work schedule. Amazing work life balance. Unlimited time-off. High pay related to competing firms.

Cons

Location helps determine how much you will make. A big city will provide more traffic and options available than a small branch in a small town in the suburbs most likely. There is a possibility of covering more than one branch which can be a pro depending on what is assigned to you.

Good Place to Work

Pros

Work from home one day a week. Good work like balance. Huge on volunteering. Credo reward ( bank version of cash). I am on the best team in the bank, the opportunity to learn and grow is unlimited

Cons

They reduced the amount they pay towards the medical insurance premium. There is no bonus unless you are VP level and if you start out as an officer or lower, it takes a very long time to do get to the level where you receive bonuses. Raise is max at 4% which doesnt even keep up with the inflation. In order to get a higher salary, it would require you to leave the bank and come back. Not a great option. Some recruiters will lowball you and say that there is no room for negotiation. I had to relocate for the job, yet they gave me no relocation allowance and I was lowballed in my salary but wasnt aware till I started working and was able to meet another colleague who was doing similar job as me, however was making almost $20K more than I was....for almost the exact similar role.

Pros

None that aren’t bare minimum expectations from an employer like 401k match and health benefits.

Cons

-Some of the worst management I’ve ever seen -Colleagues who refuse to develop their skills and learn. I work with seasoned colleagues who don’t have basic grammar and Excel skills. If you show that you have any skills that are beyond beginner level, you just get more work with no benefit. -Consistent layoffs, so you never know when you’ll be next. Whoever is in charge of the layoffs also doesn’t review who they’re firing and how that will affect your team, leaving multiple groups without their strongest person. -Below industry standard pay, no bonus, and no possibility of salary negotiation -Antiquated ideas of “we’re a family!” and the push to be in office despite there being no necessity -My manager’s Team status will show as “away” for most of the day but god forbid I need to take a half day to go to the doctors. -Upper management is so terribly out of touch with reality it’s sickening to receive any sort of communication from them. -Our “HelpDesk” is an absolute nightmare and getting any assistance from IT is migraine-inducing. Doesn’t help that there are constant IT issues as a result of incompetence
