Pros

great PTO time, branch closed at 4pm, way better than working in a traditional retail environment, got to make my own schedule and have some flexibility when needed

Cons

the turnover that happens from tellers, bankers and to branch managers is a warning sign that there is a reason why people are running. I was hired with several other branch manager all at the same time and in the same region- strange that you would need that many all at once. I quickly became one of the more "seasoned" BMs within 3 years... really, just 3 years and I was 2 spots away from the longest BM in the Region? There is the manage by scare and fear ideal- I heard over and over again from other BMs, bankers and even Regional Managers, that you will be fired and that they really don't care. They will replace you within a day. They higher ups have tried to address that they want to be a place that cares about employees- it makes for a good PR statement, however if you aren't driving the highest sales and setting the most appointments and selling your customers everything and anything- you pretty much suck. My Regional protected the top sellers in his region, even if it meant that they got away major policy violations. He would ensure that HR didn't get a hold of it or he would "lighten" the load to HR so that the top sellers wouldn't get let go. There are also too many "friendships" that were inappropriate for the workplace. It was all disclosed to HR and the Regional but he was in the tangled mess too so it didn't go too far.

Aggressive Sales Pressure and High Turn-Over

Pros

There are certainly great benefits for employees if you “stick it out” (most benefits are not available to new colleagues but kick in on your one year anniversary).

Cons

Pressure to sell products to customers is unbearable. High turnover among management and lack of consistency makes it hard to keep track of which policies are to be enforced. Altogether there is a culture of doing underhanded things and remembering not to do them when the auditors come around.

Pros

Honestly, I am sure it is better than many companies but, it is hard for me to pinpoint anything that is really great. At best benefits and pay are just ok. I like the people I work with by and large.

Cons

They do not invest in there employees. Lack of opportunity. They are always hiring but you are better off as an outside hire. Most people will leave the company and come back for a new job or better pay. Low or no raises. Very sales focused with a "what have you done for me lately attitude. Never good enough. They always expect more out of you while giving you mediocre tools to work with.
