Do Yourself a Favor and Don't Apply To This Company

Pros

There are no pros for this company.

Cons

Where to begin...do you like useless paperwork? Do you like being micro managed all day? The upper management for this company are all corrupt. If you are a pet/favorite of the regional manager then most likely you will get promoted and have a blind eye to unscrupulous selling practices. If the regional manager does not like you then watch out because they will find a way to fire you even if it's based upon lies! I've witnessed some of the most unprofessional behavior by my regional manager including them talking about other employees from other locations. If a customer requests an address change, a debit card reorder, a check order etc. we are expected to sit them down at the desk and ask them multiple questions about their current banking relationship. The customers don't want to have to sit down listen to a sales pitch (its bad enough that we have to sell to them when they come up to the teller line!). It's to the point that there will be a line at our ATM machine of our regular customers and no one in line for a teller because they don't want to have to listen to a sales pitch.

Pros

They used to try to make it like it was a family. No matter how big it got, they still made overtures to ensure that the employees felt appreciated and wanted to come to work. That's gone now.

Cons

There is such hubris in the executive ranks, and many of them aren't even qualified to do their job. They are so out of touch with what it really takes to get something done. And they try to do too much in a very risky way.

Pros

Generous paid time off (if your Dept. is staffed and you're allowed to take the time off.)

Cons

The only way to advance is to leave your current position and apply for other positions in other areas of the bank. And if you accept another role there's a good chance your responsibilities will be nothing like they told you they'd be. Horrible "managers". It's a wonder some of them actually find their way to work, let alone earn a VP or SVP title.
