      Pros

      I am in the NYC tax department, and couldn't be happier. The people who work here are just so talented, smart, and engaging. The management (partners, directors, etc) actually care about developing the staff, and take an active role in doing so. They want everyone to succeed. Hard work at this firm gets you so far. There is no limit to what you can do here, they won't hold you back and want you to be challenged. This is one of the only firms I've worked at where they want you to really know all types of tax areas--trusts, estates, high net worth, corps, partnerships, s-corps, etc. The training is high caliber and I feel as though I'm better off for it, as compared to my peers at other competitor firms. I just overall enjoy coming to work every day and developing my career.

      Cons

      Every firm has its cons, but I really don't feel that there are any notable cons that I am concerned about at this time.

      Pros

      Great time off when I was there, great exposure to all levels of management, great community service program

      Cons

      Tax department administration and review process. Lot of office politics/drama constantly as well as gossiping. Also there is a lack of effort made to take the time to teach one another.

      uhh it's close to grand central?

      Whether you're an accountant or working in IT, this is not the place to be. I'll keep it short and simple with one fact..... the turnover rate is extremely high. Many factors goes into it but the internal structure of Citrin Cooperman is horrible aka they still live in the 1970s. Also the "family-oriented" hoopla they try to sell is a complete lie. You don't have to be in love with your job, but you sure do need to tolerate it and the people. This place exudes so much negativity, like stressed to the point where you get gray hair and forcing yourself to get out of bed to arrive at a hellhole.
