Pros

Awesome people to work with, always learning something new, great location, nice office building, the overtime that we receive is rare in public accounting, great work/life balance considering the fact that we are in public accounting, and one of the best overall accounting firms to work for IMO and in the opinion of other coworkers who have come from other firms including the "Big 4."

Cons

We should have off on Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, and Veterans Day since these national holidays are not in the peak of busy season.

Some good people Summer Friday hours Unique personalities Office location

Cons

I am giving this company 1 star because of the sheer unprofessionalism that I witnessed and the hostile environment it created in the tax dept. I noticed that other offices and even other departments in the NY office were happier and may have had less turnover but my experience here was unsatisfactory, to say the least. I feel as though I was misled upon joining the firm but below I will clear up any confusion for future candidates: -Be prepared to be micromanaged. -Be prepared to feel like you are in high school with people talking about you behind your back (supervisors, managers and above as well). -Be prepared for the "overtime" spiel...they will sell you on their overtime but don't tell you that the first 75 hours must be converted to (10) mandatory vacation days and your other overtime is taxed at a high rate so you will probably see about half of those dollars. -Be prepared to be spoken to without respect and possibly chastised(depending on who you interact with). -Be prepared to not receive feedback in a timely manner (if you receive it at all). -Be prepared to work on clients with tight budgets and lengthy requests (some of management will really guide you through while others will toss the work at you to get done with little direction. It really depends on who you work with). -Lastly, be prepared to work long hours without recognition of your efforts, often feeling like you are just a body filling a seat.
