The recreation department pays ok but it isn't competitive to other places.

Flexibility with schedule is non existent Government job means everything is slowed down when making decisions Not much room for moving up to higher positions due to everyone retiring at the city whether this is a con is up to our personal opinions but someone who is early on in their career, moving up within the company may be important. No real way of knowing when/how to get promoted and you always have to ask about it. Nothing regarding job status, pay raises, or schedule changes happens without HRs approval which is annoying.
