Pros

- Great WFH Policy - Fun environment and people - Tech was interesting (dependent on the team) - Was able to use a lot of the latest technology, .net core, kubernetes, redis, rabbitmq, etc. - Great manager - Good benefits & rewarding hackathons and learning opportunities

Cons

- Pay was average, in my 3.5 years of being there, I received 12k in salary bump. Total of 90k when I left (5 years of total experience). This was even after getting a 4.5 to 4.8 on every single review cycle. - Pretty lax deadlines and all goals were team goals. This can be seen as a pro to some people, but what I noticed was the long time employees would put in extremely minimal effort and still collect a large salary with no repercussions. - No advancement opportunity, even when getting up to 4.8 on every single review cycle and doing most of the complex work on the team. - Lots of bad technical decisions and deals being made with software partners by non technical people that the development team has to deal with.

Pros

The co-workers are friendly and all of the engineers seem knowledgeable and talented. The company can be pretty flexible about employees working remotely, especially since it's so hard for the company to convince good talent to move to Manhattan, Kansas; in fact, a lot of senior level engineers work completely remotely. The office space is a nice mix of personal desks and open collaboration space (no giant, loud open-tables or outdated cubicles). If you enjoy living in Manhattan, Kansas, this is a great place to work.

Cons

It's located in Manhattan, Kansas, which you might hate if you are not used to small town living. The pay is significantly lower than what you could be making only 2 hours away in the greater KC area. The products also don't use any cutting-edge technology in their tech stacks, and they often rely on outdated, uncommon technologies and framework. Despite being successful, the company doesn't want to invest time into resolving serious technical debt. Upper management makes baffling decisions; they don't seem to have long-term plans for most of their products, and instead, only add features when they are requested by potential clients.

Pros

Great pay, great benefits, very flexible work schedule. They allow you to work with manly new technologies and give you the training to keep up to date with the ever changing world of software engineering. The work from home policy is great as well.

Cons

Management sometimes cares more about strict deadlines for clients than actually making sure the product is the best it can be.
