Pros

Worked here 10 months and so far, they really seem to care and put emphasis on work/life balance, developing employees and making meaningful changes internally. The product that Clarios develops, automotive batteries, is something that is a relatively safe industry due to the fact that need for batteries will not be decreasing in the future, so the fear over company layoffs/turnover isn't really there. Company seems to put on a decent amount of engagement events. My role is a hybrid role where I get to work from home 2 days per week which is great. Used to be 3 days which was nicer. Company is a diverse and worldwide company so in my role, I get to interact with people in Europe nearly daily which is sometimes cool and sometimes frustrating. Parking garage on-site which is AMAZING, especially during winter or bad weather as you are protected from elements and don't have to clean snow off vehicle after working. Has a great cafeteria and on-site gym. Depends on your manager, but mine has been very flexible and understanding with life events and when things pop up. Company encourages self learning and personal/professional growth. Very inclusive atmosphere if that is something that matters to you.

Cons

Compensation/pay for my experience and abilities is a little below the average for the area and below what I have made previously. From what I have seen, there isn't ample opportunities for growth or advancement as many managers have been with the company for a long time. Work loads so far haven't been very consistent. Some times it is hectic and feels like we are scrambling to complete work by deadlines and other times there is a lull in the work and you try to stay busy (which isn't hard as the company allows you flexibility to learn) Working on a team where half of the team is in Germany, makes for a lot of early meetings and hurdles to overcome with collaboration. Not impossible but also not as preferred as having the whole team on 1 continent.

Thanks for sharing all your great feedback about working at Clarios. Sounds like you have found a nice balance at a great place that values work/life balance and continuous learning. I know everyone agrees with your sentiment about 2 days at home creating this hybrid environment. I have no crystal ball, but I believe that is going to stay forever (crossing my fingers too)

Thank you for contributing your review to Glassdoor. The nature of the product does create a few "cons" but no other company on the planet knows how to minimize those interactions as well as we do!
