Pros

Clark is a loose school where you have freedom to teach as you like.

Cons

There's little communication within the department I'm in or the school at large. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. When problems arise there's more finger-pointing and whining than problem solving. Like many schools, they educate on the cheap by paying low salaries.

Pros

Flexible time and good payment if you have certain experiences in sound and lighting setup - which is not a hard skill to acquire.

Cons

Your first year of work would be sort of boring since they will not assign well paid projects to newbie. My advice is to try to shadow the former techs as much as possible.

Great school - bad employer.

Pros

The people are generally kind and good hearted. There are opportunities to add skills to your resume and gain a broad width of experience. Students and graduates want to change the world - and some do!

Cons

Poor facilities for many. (Mice, bugs and bats are a daily occurrence in some buildings.) Department and office politics are the norm. Strategic leadership is lacking. Faculty and administrators are often at odds. Good ideas get mired in committees so that only watered down ideas survive. Everyone is doing two or three jobs, and open vacancies go for months before being filled. Well known that HR discourages promotions and prefers to hire in. The employee review process is a sham, and salaries are running joke. The raise this year for top performers was less than cost of living.
